To provide the highest quality of precise and safe care, our office uses the most advanced diagnostic imaging technology. By using the Dexis system and sensors for our digital radiographic needs, we can obtain the highest resolution of diagnostic images with the lowest degree of exposure to x-ray radiation.
The Dexis system integrates leading-edge computer technology and digital sensors for the acquisition, viewing, storage, and sharing of radiographic images. It offers several advantages over the older traditional film-based methods of taking x-rays. The most significant of these advantages is that digital radiography reduces a patient’s exposure to radiation. Furthermore, these diagnostic images can be viewed immediately after being taken, can be seen simultaneously by multiple practitioners, and can be easily shared with other offices. And, since digital x-rays do not require any chemicals or paper to develop, they are also safer for the environment.
With digital radiography, an electronic pad, which is known as a sensor is used in lieu of film to acquire a digital image. This image then goes directly into a patient’s computer file. Once stored on the computer, a digital x-ray can be easily viewed on a screen, shared, or printed out as a hard copy.
